Unlike other tooth restoration options, a dental implant provides a firm and solid foundation that replaces your tooth roots just like the original. It is a long-term solution to replacing missing teeth. They look, feel and function like natural teeth. The dental implant is surgically placed in the jawbone and functions as an anchor for the replacement tooth. After bonding is formed between the jawbone and the dental implant, the implant can then firmly support a crown, bridge or denture. Our Specialist is a renowned Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in dental implants. He is a pioneer in the field of virtual surgery in the surgical placement of implant and currently interested in analysing immediately loaded implants.
Both crowns and most bridges are fixed prosthetic devices. Unlike removable devices such as dentures, which you can take out and clean daily, crowns and bridges are cemented onto existing teeth or implants, and can only be removed by a dentist. A crown is used to entirely cover or “cap” a damaged tooth. Besides strengthening a damaged tooth, a crown can be used to improve its appearance, shape or alignment. Bridges are commonly used to replace one or more missing teeth. They span the space where the teeth are missing. Bridges are cemented to the natural teeth or implants surrounding the empty space.
A veneer is a thin layer of restorative material placed over a tooth surface, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth, or to protect a damaged tooth surface. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size, or length.
As a person ages the adult teeth often become darker due to changes in the mineral structure of the tooth. Teeth can also become stained by bacterial pigments, foodstuffs and tobacco. This procedure is also known as “Dental Bleaching”.
Root Canal Therapy
Root canals and their associated pulp chamber are the physical hollows within a tooth that are naturally inhabited by nerve tissue, blood vessels and other cellular entities. This therapy involves the removal of these structures, the subsequent cleaning, shaping, and decontamination of the hollows with tiny files and irrigating solutions as well as and the filling of the decontaminated canals with an inert filling.
Our Dental Centre also deals with the care and treatment of children’s dentistry.
Oral Maxillofacial Surgery
This corrects a wide spectrum of diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region.
Also known as “Bad Breath” is caused by mouth bacteria invading coatings or biofilms that build up on the tongue, teeth, gum and throat surfaces. Once the bacteria enter these coatings, they break down the proteins within to produce the horrible smells. “Our Dental Centre uses the essential treatment, the KForce Breath Guard Fresh Breath System, which is the world’s first probiotic solution to fight halitosis.”
Orthognathic surgery is a surgery to correct conditions of the jaw and face related to structure, growth, skeletal disharmonies or other orthodontic problems that cannot be easily treated with braces. Once the jaws are correctly positioned a harmony between the facial features is acquired which results in a beautiful profile.
